We use High End Industrial Film Scanners that can handle vast quantitys of slides with the minimum of fuss.
We scan at 3300dpi, then run the images through a Dedicate Professional Noise Reduction Workstation.
Although many companies scan smaller numbers on consumer scanners such as the Nikon Coolscan 5000 but when it comes to larger quantities these scanners are way to slow for large numbers to be scanned cost effectively.
We have scanned countless collections and have geared up our workflow designed for large numbers of slides.
Karmaans workflow is unique, we don't offer Dust & Scratches, Extra Enhancements, Colour Correction etc, this is because out of 1000 slides only a handful will require any modification. So why pay for these extras! Don't be fooled by companys stating you need Digital Ice, Digital ROC etc. All high end scanners don't feature these gimmicks.

Most peoples collections are of family snapshots taken on old cameras, why spend the extra money on pictures that don't warrant it!
If your picture is properly exposed, then you will get a great image!
Most people have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro so any dust can be easily taken out, colours enhanced and the final image is much better than any Digital Ice or ROC automatic effort.
What we do is get your collections out of the boxes into the digital realm as cheaply as possible.
If you then find you'd like certain slides enhanced, larger scans or even canvas prints, we can then take the images and adjust them accordingly.
FAQ:
Q. I have a mixture of different slide mounts, some plastic, some cardboard etc can you scan these?
A. Yes we scan all standard mounts, including glass. Plastic ones tend to run better, but cardboard is usually OK if they are in good condition.
Q. I have some non standard and larger slides, can you scan these?
A. Yes we can, but will need to go on a different system and are more expensive
Q. How do I send you the slides?

Q. What is the turnaround time?
A. This really depends on how many other slides we have in at the time of scanning and also how many you require scanning. We try to give an estimate of ETA via email and always send confirmation when they are shipped
Q. We have 1000s of slides, can we split them into batches and send to over a period of time?
A. Yes, you can split them into 250s, 500s or whatever suits
Q. Can you name the files accordingly?
A. We scan in batches and can name the batches whatever we want.
for example, if you have a Slide box called Ibiza1987, then we will call that Folder Ibiza1987, each slide within that folder will be then named Ibiza1987.00001 with an increment number on the end.
Q. Do you enhance or clean the scans
A. No enhancements are made or added, these are usually detrimental to the original scan, it's much better to have the raw scan then work on copies of the image for any adjustments. I find you can make any poor image look much better than any Digital Ice or Digital ROC automatic enhancements by using a few simple photoshop techniques. Q. Some of my mounts have come unglued, what do I do about these
A. Follow our instructional Video in the tutorial pages on how to repair your slides, if they are beyond repair we do carry a large volume of spare slide mounts, we can remount your slides for an extra 25p each.
Q. How do you send the slides back
A Depending on quantity, normally via Business Post next day courier.
